Carmelina Moscato Facts

Carmelina was named the ‘Most Valuable Player’ while she was with her high school soccer team.

She represented her University team, Penn State Nittany Lions, from 2002 to 2005 and helped her team reach the College Cup semifinals in both 2002 and 2005.

She was a key member of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC squad that won the W-League championship in 2004, for the first time in the club’s history.

Carmelina featured in all 6 of Canada’s games at the 2002 FIFA Under-19 Women’s World Championship, helping her country reach the final where they lost to the United States.

After retirement, she has served as the assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin and the Louisville Cardinals.

Canada’s Under-15 women’s squad, coached by her, finished as the runner-up in the 2016 CONCACAF Girls’ Under-15 Championship.
