Catherine Havasi is an American AI scientist and entrepreneur. She is the co-founder and CEO of Luminoso, a natural language understanding company. She is also the co-founder of the MIT Media Lab's Open Mind Common Sense project, which is a large-scale effort to build a common sense knowledge base for artificial intelligence. Havasi received her B.A. in Cognitive Science from Brown University in 2003 and her Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab in 2009. She has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University and a research scientist at the MIT Media Lab.
