Gwyneth Paltrow takes 11-year-old Apple in for $200 Sonya Dakar facials

Gwyneth Paltrow posted this gorgeous mother-daughter selfie a week ago, probably around the Super Bowl. I’ve always thought Apple Martin looked so much like Gwyneth, but I think the chances are pretty good that Apple will be absolutely stunning when she grows up, and she’ll probably casually fall into modeling and acting. Maybe even rock n’ roll. Anyway, I’m posting this photo of Goop and Goop Jr. because of this amazing story in the Daily Mirror. Apparently, Gwyneth and Apple are both obsessed with $200 Sonya Dakar facials. Just what every 11-year-old needs: a $200 facial?

Gwyneth Paltrow is splashing out £140 a time on facials for her 11-year-old daughter Apple. The Iron Man star, 43, has enrolled her eldest child for treatments with Hollywood guru Sonya Dakar. The therapist, whose clients include Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, offers a range of odd remedies. Her snake venom facial is said to freeze muscles, giving the appearance of Botox without using needles. Other treatments include an apple stem cell facial – a Paltrow favourite – light-emitting diode therapy and a customized hangover facial.

Sonya said of Apple: “She loves it. She said ‘Mummy, you have to go only to Sonya.’ She’s so into health.”

A source said: “Gwyneth has seen Sonya countless times and believes prevention is better than cure. She looks better than ever and thinks it is never too early to start taking care of yourself. There is nothing invasive about the facials and Apple really enjoys them. It is simply a fun mother-daughter bonding day out and something they love doing together.”

I get that it’s a mother-daughter activity and it’s just something special that they get to do together. My go-to activities with my mom involve food and movies, although I bet she would love it if we did mother-daughter facials. So, while I think this is mostly harmless mother-daughter stuff, I also think it’s kind of crazy to give an 11-year-old kid a $200 facial. But maybe we should just shrug and say, “Ah, classic Goop.”
