The NY6 or the New Year Six Bows are the combination of games of the Football Bowl Subdivision that are played during the holiday season each year. The Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl are the names of the games featuring the best of College Football's athletic talent.
According to The College Football Network " The New Year's Six dictates which teams play in the National Championship Game and rotate on a three-year cycle, pairing the Rose and Sugar, Orange and Cotton, and Peach and Fiesta together throughout three seasons"
Also, The NY6 will show the expanded College Football Playoffs at the quarterfinal and semifinal games.
Every season the FBS committee selects the top 12 seeds to be in the playoffs, the remaining 8 spots are selected through different criteria.
