Tobey Maguire has really grown up in the past few years. He was a guy who had a lot of issues when he first started out in the world of Hollywood and acting, but he’s cleaned up his ways and become one of the most remarkable men in the industry. This week, the actor is making headlines for doing something really nice for someone in need – and a week before Thanksgiving, more people should follow Maguire’s example and do the same.
The actor, 39, set a good example for everyone who has more than the person next to them. All it takes is a few minutes of your time, a few dollars and the kindness associated with thinking of others for just a few moments to change a life and make someone feel hopeful when they feel they have nothing to be hopeful about – and this time of year it’s especially important to do this.
Over the weekend the actor was spotted out and about in Venice (the California version, not the George and Amal wedding location) carrying a handful of to-go plates filled with food. It looked as if he was heading out to eat something himself, but it turns out his meal wasn’t for him, but rather for someone who needed it a lot more.
Before entering a Venice eatery for lunch, Maguire stopped to chat with a man in a wheelchair who is living on the streets and doing whatever he can for food, but he’s still homeless. Maguire and the wheelchair-bound man spoke momentarily before Maguire stepped into the eatery for a meal. When he left, however, he found the homeless man and handed him a to-go container filled with food. After giving his new friend a good meal, he sat down with the friends he was with to enjoy his own meal al fresco.
