Blood, sweat and tears have gone into building this Williamstown estate over 23 years by one dedicated family, who have decided now to pass it on to someone else to enjoy.

The five-bedroom home at 123 Cecil St has been listed with $3.9m-$4.29m price hopes.

Ever since he was 15-years old, vendor and plasterer Tony Piacquadio said it was his dream to live in “Willy” which was why he had to snap up this abode when his wife was 39 weeks pregnant.

Has selling season affected property prices?

“I bought it without any bank approval at the time and had two houses to sell,” Mr Piacquadio.

“I took a chance I suppose, probably pushed fate a little bit.”

He said that over the years the family began “chipping away” at the property, with Mr Piacquadio firstly stripping back multiple layers of paint to expose its bluestone facade.

They then redid the cast iron fence and veranda out the front as well as renovated all the ceilings and walls inside.

In another renovation, the pool, pizza oven, extension and fireplace were added.

“During Covid, that’s where we sat; in front of the fireplace, bottle of wine, and just got together as a family so that was our go-to place,” Mr Piacquadio said.

Another highlight of the home is the “men’s wellness centre” where Mr Piacquadio and the other “Williamstown Wasps” park their vespas after a ride and have a yarn.

“There’s three founding members and then we have people that come and join us for rides,” he said.

“We try to get in there once a month and go for a ride.”

Now after 40 years of working hard, Mr Piacquadio said it was time to “learn to relax” and move on from the home he and his family poured so much love and effort into.

“It’s a very heartfelt house,” he said.

Ray White Williamstown sales executive Reece Pearson said 123 Cecil St was a property people had been watching and waiting to come up for sale.

“We’ve had a couple of parties that have been looking out of area, coming from different parts of the Mornington Peninsula and a couple from other Bayside suburbs,” Mr Pearson said.

“But there’s been an abundance of Williamstown families waiting for something like that to come into the market.

“There’s only a handful of bluestone properties in Williamstown so that naturally draws a level of interest.”

The classic Victorian was originally built around 1866 and retains much of its character alongside its modern, renovated interior.

Baltic pine flooring, high ceilings and traditional fireplaces are consistent throughout.

The kitchen features stone benches, three Miele ovens, dual dishwashers, and a Miele coffee machine.

Outside, there is an alfresco deck with an outdoor kitchen, wood fire pizza oven, heated swimming pool and spa.

At the estate’s rear there’s a separate double-floored oasis with a studio or “men’s wellness centre” as the vendor calls it, a workshop, dressing room, bedroom or living zone, bathroom and even a dog wash.

The entire property spans 759sq m.

Expressions of interest close on Saturday 28 October at 12:30pm.
